For the 2024 edition, Mission ÉTSplore set off for the United Kingdom, a country where industrial and technological innovation plays a central role. Over the course of two weeks, our members explored both England and Wales, visiting prestigious organizations such as Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Hitachi Rail, Aston Martin F1, and many others. This journey offered a unique opportunity to discover new approaches to engineering, build connections with industry leaders, and reflect on the evolving role of engineers in society. It also marked an important milestone in our development, with a first-time collaboration with the Québec Government Office in London, further highlighting the international reach and impact of our mission.
Here is a snapshot of Mission ÉTSplore’s 2024 itinerary in the United Kingdom. Over the course of two weeks, our team travelled across key cities in England and Wales to visit world-renowned companies. From Griffon Hoverwork to Aston Martin F1, including Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Renishaw, Alstom, and many others, each stop provided a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies and engage with inspiring professionals across various engineering fields.

Discovering Global Innovation and Engineering
The 2024 edition marks an important milestone in the history of Mission ÉTSplore, as it was the first year the project operated as an independent ÉTS student club. On this occasion, the team travelled to the United Kingdom to visit several renowned organizations, develop new opportunities for international collaboration, and deepen their understanding of engineering practices abroad. Through their dedication, commitment, and team spirit, the members gained a unique personal and professional development experience while contributing to the visibility and growth of Mission ÉTSplore.

Florent Le Gac
Captain
As a Bachelor’s student in Construction Engineering, Florent is currently pursuing new challenges and opportunities to expand his knowledge. He emphasizes teamwork and consistent rigor as essential to successfully carrying out his projects. In his view, the construction industry is constantly expanding, making innovation essential to developing environmentally responsible, high-quality projects.
Florent will serve as Captain for this edition, bringing his determination, rigor, and professionalism to promote the values of Quebec’s engineers, represent ÉTS internationally, and build relationships with qualified professionals. The 2024 United Kingdom Edition is an opportunity for him to develop his leadership skills by leading a team of ten (10) students in organizing an educational trip designed to broaden their perspectives and foster innovative ideas for the benefit of Canadian society.
Gustavo Jarquin
Co-Captain
For the second consecutive year, Gustavo is taking part in Mission ÉTSplore, this year as Co-Captain. He is eager to share the knowledge and experience he gained during the previous edition with new members and hopes to see the project continue to thrive as a student club.
Gustavo’s ability to listen, curiosity, and open-mindedness set him apart from his peers—qualities that help him lead the Logistics Committee. By participating in the 2024 edition, Gustavo is looking forward to discovering the United Kingdom’s contributions and innovations in the field of engineering.
Through his involvement as an administrator, he is also developing his leadership skills. Gustavo is committed to bringing innovative ideas to the ÉTS student community and contributing to ÉTS’s international visibility.
Vincent Chouinard
Treasurer
As a former member of Mission Technologiques LÉTS GO during the 2023 edition, Vincent wanted to share his experience while improving the project’s visibility within the ÉTS student community.
With his strong listening skills, dedication, and desire to discover new things, Vincent will help the Mission, as well as ÉTS, establish a network of contacts to foster future collaborations between companies and universities, such as internships and student exchanges.
By travelling to the United Kingdom, he is looking forward to discovering the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and exploring the technological advancements that have emerged since that time.
Harout Dabbaghian
Logistics Committee
After completing his studies at Dawson College, Harout enrolled at the École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. Currently an intern at Pratt & Whitney, he is passionate about software development and data analysis. With a strong background in public relations, Harout skillfully combines technical expertise with strong communication skills.
In 2023, Harout enthusiastically joined the ÉTSplore team. Driven by an innovative mindset and an appetite for challenges, he aims to solve complex problems on an international scale, with a particular focus on software engineering. His involvement with ÉTSplore positions him as a versatile and promising future engineer.
William Péladeau
Logistics Committee
A third-year student in Automated Production Engineering, William is always looking for new challenges to take on. Having just returned from a college construction project in Guinea with the PRÉCI club, he is already eager to contribute to the preparation of the mission. William is passionate about international relations and sees cultural exchange as a valuable opportunity for learning and growth. In his view, it is essential for future engineers to develop a global perspective.
William will be part of the Mission’s Logistics Committee and will be primarily responsible for the club’s fundraising activities. As he is also in the process of arranging a student exchange in Europe, he is committed to helping expand the international opportunities available to ÉTS students and to making it possible for as many students as possible to experience this type of opportunity.
Catherine Rivest
Logistics Committee
Catherine Rivest, a dynamic Construction Engineering student at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), has built her academic background on a strong foundation in Civil Engineering from Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe. Involved and determined, she stands out as a member of the ÉTSplore Mission Logistics Committee and as Co-Captain of ÉTS’s Hercule Steel Bridge Club.
Passionate about construction, Catherine aims to push her limits by participating in the Mission to the United Kingdom. Her goal is to explore new facets of the construction industry, adopt innovative approaches, and build international professional connections, thereby enriching both her academic and personal experience.
Catherine enthusiastically envisions a career with a general contractor, where she aspires to make a meaningful contribution to large-scale projects. Her commitment to professional excellence and determination position her as a future key contributor to the construction industry, ready to apply her expertise to help shape the future of construction.
Chiara Iacovella
Logistics Committee
Those who know Chiara can attest to her enduring passion for international travel. From a young age, she has had the opportunity to discover numerous countries, allowing her to develop a deep appreciation for different cultures, traditions, and languages, as well as a strong open-mindedness. Her journey also led her to study at Politecnico di Milano in Italy for six months—an experience that pushed her beyond her comfort zone and proved to be exceptionally enriching.
Did you know that Chiara has already participated in the ÉTSplore Mission (formerly known as “Missions technologiques LÉTS GO”)? Indeed, she was selected for the 2022 France Edition. Her previous experience with the Mission is a valuable asset, and she will be able to provide significant support to the new team as a mentor.
Naturally curious, Chiara has always been fascinated by the construction of civil structures. This passion motivated her to pursue a technical diploma in Civil Engineering at CEGEP and subsequently continue her university studies in Construction Engineering, which she will complete in April 2024. Guided by a strong spirit of mutual support, Chiara has been involved in numerous volunteer activities throughout her academic journey, including mentoring other students. She also expresses her creativity through her experience as a singer with the MusiquÉTS student club and as a dancer with the ÉTS danse club.
By taking part in the ÉTSplore trip to the United Kingdom, Chiara aims to deepen her knowledge in her field of study while building professional connections that will be valuable for her future career opportunities.
Laurie Dubois

As an Automated Production Engineering student at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Laurie is passionate about travel, innovation, and international industrial relations. This is why she decided to join Mission ÉTSplore during her final year of university studies, taking part in a journey that fuels her insatiable thirst for discovery and innovation. As a member of the ÉTSplore Missions Finance Committee, she is actively contributing to the internationalization of her university.
With the upcoming Mission taking place in the United Kingdom, Laurie is particularly motivated to take an active role in the experience, learn from it, and share her insights with her fellow ÉTS students. The United Kingdom seamlessly combines history with cutting-edge technology, offering a unique opportunity to explore state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and world-renowned universities.
Determined to contribute to ÉTSplore’s vision, she aspires to become an agent of change by sharing innovative ideas and establishing international partnerships that foster industrial and institutional coopetition. For her, this adventure represents an opportunity for personal growth while contributing to the visibility and international reach of École de technologie supérieure.
Anthony Diotte

Originally from Centre collégial de Mont-Laurier, Anthony Diotte joined École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Fall 2023 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he aspires to work in the renewable energy sector. Convinced that innovation is essential to addressing today’s energy challenges, he aims to contribute by developing new sustainable and efficient solutions.
His willingness to learn, boundless curiosity, and leadership abilities are among the qualities that set him apart and led him to join Mission ÉTSplore. His previous involvement in an international cooperation trip to Costa Rica in January 2023 reflects his interest in enriching experiences and his constant pursuit of stimulating challenges. He looks forward to expanding his professional network and discovering engineering on an international scale. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to a sustainable future make him a passionate and determined student who strives to make a difference in the field of engineering.
Adrien Le Page
Communications and Events Committee
A third-year Bachelor’s student in Operations and Logistics Engineering, as well as a Business Digital Transformation Analyst, Adrien has a particular passion for sustainable and active transportation, digital transformation, and agronomy. Actively involved on campus, he stands out through his consistent participation in several scientific clubs, reflecting his strong interest in innovation. He is notably a member of ÉTS’s Brewing Innovation Club.
As part of the 2024 Mission ÉTSplore, Adrien is a member of the Communications team. He is responsible for planning and organizing fundraising events, as well as identifying and developing relationships with financial partners. Thanks to the strong connections he has built with the professional world through his internships, Adrien applies his knowledge to real-world situations in his current role. His involvement in Mission ÉTSplore provides an exceptional opportunity to further develop his leadership and communication skills throughout both the project and the international trip.
This enriching experience will also allow Adrien to explore the state of digital transformation across various fields in the United Kingdom, with a particular focus on the manufacturing sector. Mission ÉTSplore therefore represents an ideal opportunity for him to deepen his knowledge while actively contributing to the development of meaningful connections between ÉTS, companies, and universities in the United Kingdom.
Rim Mrah

My name is Rim Mrah, and I am currently a fourth-year Bachelor’s student in Operations and Logistics Engineering. A trip to Tangier, Morocco, at the age of 16 left a lasting impression on me, as witnessing the scale of its port sparked my passion for the vast fields of transportation and manufacturing.
My endless curiosity and creativity fuel my pursuit of knowledge and perseverance in the face of academic challenges. Throughout my university journey, I have remained actively involved in campus life, always eager to contribute while learning more about the logistics industry and the engineering fields surrounding it.
When the opportunity to participate in the Mission Technologique presented itself, I did not hesitate. It reflected my passion for exploration and my interest in tackling international logistics challenges. My journey is a testament to my enduring passion and dedication to innovation in industrial engineering.
