ÉTSplore Mission 2026
For its 2026 edition, Mission ÉTSplore is ultimately setting its sights on Spain, a country renowned for its expertise in engineering, technological innovation, and sustainable development. Serving as a strategic crossroads between Europe, Africa, and the rest of the world, Spain stands out for its advancements in sectors such as smart transportation, renewable energy, urban infrastructure, and cutting-edge technologies. Its thriving industrial and scientific ecosystem makes it an especially valuable destination for future engineers seeking to explore diverse approaches to innovation and technological development.
Originally, Mission ÉTSplore 2026 was scheduled to travel to the United Arab Emirates. However, less than a month before departure, evolving political circumstances in the region required the team to completely rethink its plans in order to ensure the safety of all participants. This last-minute change of destination presented a significant challenge, as several months of preparation had already been invested in the original project. Through resilience, adaptability, and strong teamwork, the delegation successfully accomplished in just a few weeks what had taken nearly six months to prepare, developing an entirely new program of visits and activities for Spain.
Over the course of two weeks, a cohort of approximately ten engineering students from ÉTS will be immersed in innovative companies, world-class research centers, and landmark engineering infrastructures. Beyond the technical learning opportunities, this experience will also allow participants to discover Spain’s rich cultural heritage and gain a deeper understanding of the social, economic, and environmental issues shaping modern societies. By proudly representing Quebec on the international stage, the members of Mission ÉTSplore 2026 will develop a broader perspective on their role as engineers—one rooted in innovation, global awareness, and the ability to adapt to the challenges of an ever-evolving world.
