Can I be on an internship during either the fall or winter semester?

Yes! No problem! You can be on an internship during either of the reference semesters. However, you must remain available to support the team and contribute to the organization according to your internship schedule.

What tasks will I be expected to perform within the club?

  • Attend all preparatory meetings for the trip, from November to May: about one to two hours per week, plus personal tasks distributed among the committees;
  • Complete all tasks necessary for the mission, including those requested by the project leaders before, during, and after the mission. The total duration of the mission project is about one year, including preparations and post-mission tasks;
  • Examples of tasks: reading, video editing, budget preparation, meeting with partners, event organization, mission logistics, writing blog posts, drafting the final report, post-mission presentations, etc.;

What type of profile are you looking for?

We do not have strict selection criteria, but we are mainly looking for students who are:

  • Open-minded;
  • Interested in international experiences;
  • Have a positive attitude;
  • Willing to develop themselves;
  • Team-oriented;
  • Have a minimum of professional experience (internship 1);
  • Functionally bilingual (French/English).

What languages do I need to speak to participate?

You must have at least a functional level of French and English.

We do not require students to speak any other languages besides these. However, depending on the destination of the current edition, speaking a certain language (Spanish, Italian, Japanese, etc.) may be considered an asset.

We will organize group language courses as needed for each edition.

What are my chances of being selected for the mission? How many applicants are rejected?

Selection depends on the number of applications we receive, but we are looking for profiles that want to get involved and are curious.

Give it a shot! You might be the candidate we are looking for!

How long does each annual edition of the LÉTS GO Technological Missions last?

Each edition of the LÉTS GO Technological Missions is divided into five phases:

  1. Initialization;
  2. Preparation;
  3. Organization;
  4. Mission (travel);
  5. Return.

As a member of the current edition, your involvement will be limited to phases 2 to 4, spanning from November to the following August (10 months).

When does the trip take place?

Generally, the mission, including the travel portion, takes place from the last week of winter semester exams until the first week of the summer session. In other words, around late April/early May for about 10 business days, approximately 2 weeks or 14-16 days.

Can a student who hasn’t completed their internship before the departure date still register?

Yes, but the student must arrange with their employer and the Cooperative Education Service (SEC) to take leave from their internship and participate in the mission.

Please contact the SEC for more details.

Can students find an internship or a study abroad opportunity through the missions?

Absolutely! Many past mission members have secured internships and study opportunities abroad thanks to the numerous connections made with various companies and universities.

Can I earn a Génie+ mention by participating in a mission?

Absolutely! By participating in the project, ÉTS recognizes a Génie+ mention. You’ll be on your way to obtaining the Génie+ student engagement recognition after accumulating three mentions during your academic journey.

See the ÉTS website for more details.

Can I use my personal and professional network for the mission?

Of course! It’s even encouraged! Whether it’s your employer, colleagues, family, or friends, they can help establish partnerships, organize company or university visits (local or international), or even provide donations.

Can I participate in other international experiences after completing the mission?

Yes! The LÉTS GO Technological Missions are a great gateway to international experiences.

Can I participate in two consecutive missions?

Unfortunately, to allow as many students as possible to experience the LÉTS GO Technological Missions, the only way to participate in two consecutive missions is to be a member the first time and a co-leader the second time. If this applies, you will earn the title of LÉTS GO Missions Ambassador.

We still encourage ambassadors to stay connected through the LÉTS GO network, mentor new annual cohorts, and share internship and job opportunities—whether international or not—to benefit the community as much as possible.

Do I have to be a full-time student throughout the mission?

Yes. This will also allow you to benefit from a mobility grant offered by the SRI.

We also accept part-time students or those on internships, depending on their profiles.

How many cities and companies or institutions are visited per mission?

It depends on the destination, but approximately 3 to 5 cities or regions per country are visited, totaling around fifteen industrial and institutional visits on average.

What benefits does the mission offer?

The LÉTS GO Technological Missions provide an enriching experience culturally, personally, and professionally. You will have the opportunity to engage with various companies and universities focused on technological development, collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and expand your professional network. It’s also a chance to forge new friendships and become part of a global ambassador network!

Whether you are looking for your next study abroad opportunity, an international internship, or simply want to be involved in a multidisciplinary team, the LÉTS GO Technological Missions are for you.

If I can’t participate in the mission yet, how can I help?

Spread the word! Follow us on social media! Become an ambassador for the LÉTS GO Technological Missions in your own way. Share the project with your friends, family, and colleagues, and participate in events organized by current mission members.

Can a student already enrolled at ÉTS but not yet living in Canada, planning to arrive for their first semester in winter 2021, register for the 2022 mission?

You must have completed at least your first internship and participated in the mission preparation since the fall 2021 semester. In your case, you would be eligible for the 2023 mission.
